1) Repurpose Your Content
You shouldn’t have to come up with new ideas for every single social media post and here’s why:
• Your followers are not going to see every post you share
• There are multiple ways to share one message
• Most people need to hear a specific message multiple times for it to stick
• Talking about it once doesn’t make it seem important
For example, maybe you have a blog post you wrote last month. You shared it once and now it is just one of many blog posts on your website. Sure, it’s great for SEO but you can and should continue to share that content! Maybe you create a post that highlights a specific stat that you found or highlights one key sentence that really grabs your attention. This will allow you to repurpose the content you already have and create even more value for your followers. Best of all, it’s less work for you!
2) Have A Strategy
It’s hard to make social media a priority when you are trying to run a business. However, taking the time to come up with a plan will save you so much time in the long run! Think about it. If you don’t currently have a plan you are probably inconsistent with your posts and messaging. Having a strategy is hands down the best way to build a strong and consistent brand presence on social media.
3) Quality Over Quantity
One of the biggest reasons social media can be such a time suck is because we often feel the need to post every day or even multiple times a day. Not only is this no longer best practice, but most people don’t have the time to create that much quality content. I rather see you post 3 times a week with rich, engaging content than every day with mediocre content. Your followers are only going to interact with content that brings some type of benefit to them. Ditch the fluff and bring on the value!
